when exactly should this take effect? it's been more than two weeks? (i've been checking for system updates ever since)

This is still an issue. Have to recharge my battery at least twice per 24 hours. The May 15th fix did not address the battery drain issue!

Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get the patch that is apparently a cure for the battery drain issues? My P7 Pro is fully updated for system and apps but the issue remains. I have to charge up to 3 times a day and it is often so hot it is unpleasant to have in a jeans pocket. It is so hot at times it must be damaging hardware.

I am struggling to see how Google can claim this phone is fit for purpose.

Same here on Pixel 5. Started after June 5th update. Phone gets real hot and most chargers can't even keep up with the drain, let alone charge it. Pixel stand charged from 12%-19% over 7 HOURS last night. Google support says hard reset, but we all know that won't fix it.

ya he actualizado el Pixel 5 a la última versión y sigue calentándose mucho! viendo YouTube se pone ardiendo! y la batería sigue sin durar. Este foro sirve para algo más que para dar instrucciones básicas copy&paste o le pasáis las quejas a Google? esto ya se está alargando mucho, supuestamente se arreglaría solo... y sigo esperando evitando dar un uso normal al teléfono para que me dure la batería. Aunque según mi experiencia con el servicio técnico de Google esto irá para largo, estuve lidiando unos meses para que me arreglasen un problema y no eran capaces 🤷‍♂️ en fin, a ver si arreglan esto, vendo el teléfono y cambio de marca, no quiero venderlo defectuoso como está ahora. He tenido Pixel y pixel 2XL y son maravillosos, pero este... ha salido bastante malo. Pero bueno, que sea malo no significa que además tenga que estar sufriendo por usarlo.

I too am facing severe battery drainage on pixel 3A. It is draining 15-20% overnight after full recharge. This has been the case since last 2 months. I had replaced the battery just in January. Is it from the latest software update ?

My Pixel 6A battery symbol has been changed to red. Yet if I charge it and the phone power left isn't sufficient, it will go to 100 %.

I had 13 hours screen on time or 5 days standby.

Now it's reduced to 10 hours and 3 days.

It's super annoying that these security updates just break functioning system.

Every update it gets worse, why???

Most issues are with software.

Then people have VOLTE disabled = huge battery drain.

Then they use unsupported carrier.
